Meet the Host: Heather Kleitgen, BSN, RN, CDCES
Heather Kleitgen is a registered nurse and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist who hosts the Diabetes Education Podcast Series. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Maria College and is a member of the American Diabetes Association and the Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists.
Heather began her healthcare career as a certified nursing assistant before advancing to LPN and then RN. While working in primary care, she discovered her passion for diabetes education and helping patients understand they have the power to manage their condition and live healthy lives.
Her approach focuses on the whole person — their goals, support system, and daily realities — because effective diabetes care goes beyond numbers.
